Here's an interesting article from the OCRegister on September 18th, 2012. It summarizes what we have been experiencing as agents this year in the Orange County Real Estate Market. Home prices increases, low inventory and a high demand on homes.
Orange County’s median price for existing, single-family homes took a dramatic leap in August, up by nearly 12% from August a year ago, the California Association of Realtors says. Local home prices also increased 3 percent over July. Sales rose 23 percent over last August in Orange County but were just short of a 2 percent hike over last month. Statewide, prices also went up, with the median reaching a 4-year-high. Sales hit 5 consecutive months of year-over-year gains, CAR said in its monthly report. .

Fall is definitely here. School is back and in Orange County, with the beginning of the Fall, comes another factor: those heat waves that come and go at the begginning of the season. Here's some tips for your home to help you stay cool despite the heat!
1. Close your blinds. People don't think of this easy solution often, but shutting your blinds and curtains during the day will help block the sun's heat and will keep that heating effect inside the home from happening. As soon as the sun hits your home in the morning, do a round and close all windows and keep exterior doors and windows closed throughout the hottest part of the day.
2.Open the windows at night. Open selective windows so that cooler night air is blowing in throughout the evening.

It's never too early to start planning out when and where to take the family this fall. With Halloween 'month' approaching, we wanted to share some of our favorite Pumpkin Patch spots to do some Pumpkin Picking this year. Of course there's many smaller ones or you can just go to your local grocery store for one, but these places will have some fun for the whole family and will be open through Halloween:
1. Tanaka Farms. I think this place tops everyone's list. It's called ' U-Pick Pumpkin Patch' . There's No Admission Charge and Parking is Free. What's really cool here, is that they have a large farm wagon available for rides ($5 per person, under 2y is free), a large petting zoo ($3 per person, under 2y is free), corn maze (free) and u-pick vegetables
September marks the back to school time, the beginning of the Fall and beginning of football season as many others. For us, lucky ones living in the beautiful coastal cities of Orange County, marks and end: the end of the crowds.
The crowds come from everywhere: whether is inland, other states or other countries, many local residents enjoy the fall much more than the summer due to that 'liberation' feeling. A nice and empty parking spot. Not waiting in line in front of San Onofre. Not looking endlessly for a an empty spot at the beach.
Summer is always a reminder of something we take for granted too: the beautiful uncrowded beaches. Yet some places seem to always have crowds regardless of the time of the year, there's many beaches in Orange County
