We Love Talega, and Ladera Ranch. And the same goes for Las Flores, or communities alike in Rancho Santa Margarita and Aliso Viejo. Yes, these are tract homes. Yes, there's HOA's and mello roos. Yes, most houses look alike. But during the holidays, these neighborhoods get some really special decor, more so than in any other neighborhoods in Orange County, and makes many families wish they lived there.
Because these neighborhoods are full of families with kids, no matter where you live in these neighborhoods, in every street there's lights and color displays as neighbors decorate their homes in celebration of the Holidays.
Talega for example has a holiday celebration this coming Saturday December 8th 2012, with holiday crafts, cookie decorating,

Bringing the cool factor to the Holidays, the city of Dana Point will have the annual Surfing Santa contest - which will be held at Salt Creek Beach this next Saturday November 17th, 2012.
A great way to kick off the season, this event raises money to better the lives of children with autism through Surfers Healing ( a non-profit organization that helps children with autism through the benefits of surfing). The competition is put on by the Ritz-Carlton, and coincides with a surfboard auction that runs through Dec. 3, with beautiful and unique surfboards signed by surfer celebrities. The boards are on display right now at the Ritz.
The Surfing Santa contest is a laid back event where competitors dress like Santa or his elves. There are prizes for each
And it is that time of the year again. One of Dana Point's favorite events of the year for many locals and for many out of towners that come to the Harbor to participate in this event: the Dana Point Turket Trot on it's 35th edition.
Registration is now open - runners everywhere are invited to participate in this beautiful run, that goes throughout the Dana Point Harbor, with scenic routes around it. Tour the beautiful beach, majestic cliffs and coves of Dana Point. Enjoy pounding surf, rugged cliffs, and cool ocean breezes as you sail through the Dana Point Marina, Doheny State Park and pass the Historic Tallship Pilgrim moored in Dana Point Harbor. From beginners to elite runners, this event is for everyone!
Nothing shows better that the Holidays here like the good old 'Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremonies'. In Orange County we get so lucky with so many places that we can go and witness these ceremonies, but also most of them also have some extras, like a visit with Santa, hot cocoa and activities for the family. Here's a list of our most famous tree lighting ceremonies going on in South Orange County this Winter 2012. All of these are great events that will kick-off the holiday season!
