Fun for the WHOLE family right in town at Dana Point!

Take advantage of the free shuttle service from 9am -6pm at Dana Hills High School.

Cost: Free admission

When: October 4th from 10am-5pm

Where: Sea Terrace Park in Dana Point

This is the largest BBQ competition in the west coast. The actvities include:

  • Tasting: samples will be sold for $2 each.
  • Kid's Fun Zone
  • Food and Vendor Area
  • Micro Brew Garden
  • Live Music and Entertainment!

Free shuttle service from Dana Hills High School to the venue and back starting at 9am and ending at 6pm. Free parking will also be available along Stonehill Dr. and Niguel Rd. as well as at Salt Creek Beach.

Coming once again to our beautiful Dana Point, The Rainbow Sandals Gerry Lopez Battle of the Paddle event will be held on October 4th and 5th, 2014!

Note this year, this event will be held at Salt Creek Beach not the usual Doheny Beach location from previous years. More parking, more races and more challenges with more spectators will be gained with this move!  Thanks to the more Western facing beach, Salt Creek picks up more swell in the prevailing conditions during October which will prove to make the racing more exciting for spectators and racers alike. In previous years Doheny has been pretty flat, which although fair and very easy to see who’s coming where, it’s not as exciting as a 6 foot set rolling through the pack! Last years event had over

Not ready to let go of summer? Come to Doheny Beach in Dana Point this Saturday for a nice beach event.

When: September 27, 2014 6 AM to 10 PM

Where: Doheny Beach, Dana Point.

The Doheny Longboard Surfing Association’s annual Velzy Surf Contest and Luau is a highpoint for Doheny summer surfing, honoring surfing legend, Dale Velzy, “The Hawk.”  The events start with a surf contest between the DLSA and another longboard club on the California coast.  Once the contest is over, everyone retires to the picnic area for traditional luau food, Polynesia dancers and music, contest awards, and then to rock the night away with dancing to a great band.  The event iornia surfing legend and surf board maker, Dale Velzey.

Coming up this Saturday! The annual San Clemente Open Skateboard Contest is on!

When: September 27th starting at 8:00 a.m. (Ralph's Skate Court)

Where: Ralphs Skate Court


Skateboarders of all ages from 7 and under to 18 and over, will have the opportunity to grind their way to the top of the competition showcasing their best run and tricks. Every skateboarder receives an event shirt and goodie bag with the $35 registration fee Skaters must wear safety equipment.

UNDERWATER & ON THE WATER CLEANUPS AND CIGARETTE BUTT ROUNDUP EVENT – Sept. 20

OC Dana Point Harbor is preparing for the 30th Annual California Coastal Cleanup Day with an underwater cleanup in the morning, along with the annual cigarette butt roundup and new this year, to complement the underwater and land side cleanup, there will be an on-the-water cleanup program administered from kayaks and dinghies.

Nearly 40% of all debris items collected on Coastal Clean Up Day in 2013 were cigarette butts – volunteers picked up over 217,000 of them in less than three hours. It was the 25th straight year in which cigarette butts were the most littered item in California; this is most likely because many smokers mistakenly believe they are biodegradable, but are

This tasty festival returns to San Juan Capistrano this September. The Greek Festival offers guests authentic Greek cuisine, live music, Greek dancing, specialty shopping and family fun activities.

With huge swells these days, a harverst super moon happening September 8th, everything looks perfect for the annual Hurley Pro at Trestles in an Clemente, starting this September 9th , 2014.

Surfers from all over the world gather for this event, you'll recognize some of the names: Kelly Slater,  Taj Burrow, Mick Fanning. This will be stop #8 on the 2014 Samsung Galaxy ASP Men's World Championship Tour. 

There's no better place than Trestles in Southern California to start the 'ride' on the 2014 Samsung Galaxy ASP World Championship Tour (WCT), which Hurley Pro is part of and celebrate a huge punt with a “Dude that was so sick!" and "I know, right!”

What a beautiful way to finish the Summer and get a feeling of fall: the Ocean Institute celebrates its 30th year as host of the Toshiba Tall Ships Festival. This is a beautiful event for those boat lovers and kids, as everyone gets to see and explore real working tall ships, also known as the Pirate Festival - as all weekend long people celebrate by dressing up as pirates too.

There's plenty of activities planned, including:

  • Interactive living-history encampments  and demonstrations
  • Knot tying races
  • Great returning and new musical and dance acts for all ages
  • Ship tours
  • Friendly 'Pirate School': walk and sing like a pirate!
  • Art and the Sea workshop series
