Every September the Dana Point Harbor becomes a forest of towering masts, billowing sails, and stately wooden ships in early September during the annual Toshiba Tall Ships Festival, the largest gathering of historic sailing ships on the West Coast. 

Join us for a day of fun among these historic tall ships! Your Tall Ship Festival pass includes:

A 45 Year Tradition of Outrigger Canoe Racing in Dana Point

When: Saturday, August 8th, 2017

Where: Doheny State Beach

The Whitey Harrison Classic was established in 1971 as part of the Dana Point Harbor opening ceremonies. Today, It’s one of Southern California’s most popular outrigger canoe racing events with over 800 athletes competing on a 20 mile course from Doheny State Beach to Laguna Main Beach and back.

This is the first of the nine-man outrigger canoe races of the Southern California Outrigger Racing Association, hosted by the Dana Outrigger Canoe Club.  These are exciting races with 6 paddlers in the canoe and 3 more on a support boat who swap out during the race with the canoe keeping a steady pace.  Vendors and displays will be on

One of the world’s top biggest surf contests also boasts top-flight skate and BMX competition. Even if you’re not an action sports devotee, the extensive merchandise area and people-watching opportunities are a draw.

The World Surf League (WSL) Women's Championship Tour, Men's Qualifying Series, and combined Pro Junior events will take place during a competitive window from July 31 - August 6, 2017. Based on the conditions, the WSL Commissioners Office will make a decision about the surf schedule during the 7-day window.
