The Holiday Parade of Lights at the Harbor tops this one. Boaters from all around Orange County decorate their boats in their best holiday spirit and you can view the parade free from anywhere in the Harbor.

The Friends of San Clemente Beaches, Parks and Recreation Foundation is teaming up with the City of San Clemente to co-sponsor the 16th Annual SC OPEN Skateboard Contest. 

  • Where:? San Clemente Ralphs Skate court located in Richard T. Steed Memorial Park
  •  When: September 5th 2016, 8:00am

The contest is open to boys and girls, 7 years old to adult. On-site registration will be based upon availability and will begin at 7:00 a.m. the day of the event. Early Bird Registration fee is $35 and includes a contest t-shirt. Early bird registration concludes on September 5th. Registration fee is $40 beginning on September 6th. Other activities slated for this event are a vendor fair, food and beverages. Skateboard/Sports related vendors needed.

"One reason it’s called the Golden State: A new study says 15 of the 20 wealthiest large cities in the nation are in California – including five from Orange County.

NerdWallet studied 475 cities with population of 65,000 or more to compile its rankings based on a broad definition of wealth: high levels of median household income, median home values, percentage of homes without mortgages and average credit scores.

Palo Alto was top-ranked with a median income of $151,370. Its homes cost a median $2.5 million, and 34 percent have no mortgage. Residents had average credit limits of $71,696.

San Ramon was second and Pleasanton was third.

As summer melts away in San Clemente, we’ve seen a classic car show, July 4 fireworks, an ocean festival, a fiesta, a series of summer beach concerts and an annual arts and crafts fair.

For the first time in a decade, Capistrano Unified schools are returning to classes before Labor Day. The district has set this past Tuesday as the first day of school. But there’s still lots of San Clemente fun ahead as summer turns to fall. Extracted from the OCRegister:

The Marblehead Trail, or the Sea Summit Trail is a reality now, adding 4 miles of public hiking trails with gorgeous views to the city of San Clemente.

Walkers, joggers and bicyclists who enjoy San Clemente’s 2.3-mile beach trail may soon want to add “Sea Summit” to their favored exercise spots.  Users will be able to walk the beach trail from Calafia Beach to North Beach and cross El Camino Real at the city’s oceanfront Metrolink station to access the trails at Sea Summit.

On a tall bluff overlooking the Pacific, Taylor Morrison Homes completed this trail, which has 4 miles of public hiking as part of a 309-home San Clemente community and has been renamed Sea Summit ( Check out current San Clemente Homes for Sale).
