Why we love Talega and Ladera Ranch during the Holidays

We Love Talega, and Ladera Ranch. And the same goes for Las Flores, or communities alike in Rancho Santa Margarita and Aliso Viejo. Yes, these are tract homes. Yes, there's HOA's and mello roos. Yes, most houses look alike. But during the holidays, these neighborhoods get some really special decor, more so than in any other neighborhoods in Orange County, and makes many families wish they lived there.

Because these neighborhoods are full of families with kids, no matter where you live in these neighborhoods, in every street there's lights and color displays as neighbors decorate their homes in celebration of the Holidays.

Friday November 30th: First, let's finish off November with Holiday in the Harbor - Open House in Dana Point. Santa will hear your Christmas wishes and is available for photos (bring your camera).  The three areas of the Harbor, Dana Wharf Mariners Village, and Mariner's Alley will host holiday activities geared to families and children.  There are many fun activities planned, including photos with Santa, performances by various characters, and holiday crafts, people painting, and a caricature artist.

Surfing Santa Contest this Saturday at Salt Creek Beach in Dana Point

Bringing the cool factor to the Holidays, the city of Dana Point will have the annual Surfing Santa contest - which will be held at Salt Creek Beach this next Saturday November 17th, 2012.

A great way to kick off the season, this event raises money to better the lives of children with autism through Surfers Healing ( a non-profit organization that helps children with autism through the benefits of surfing). The competition is put on by the Ritz-Carlton, and coincides with a surfboard auction that runs through Dec. 3, with beautiful and unique surfboards signed by surfer celebrities. The boards are on display right now at the Ritz.

Coming soon! The 35th annual Dana Point Turkey Trot ( November 2012)

And it is that time of the year again. One of Dana Point's favorite events of the year for many locals and for many out of towners that come to the Harbor to participate in this event: the Dana Point Turket Trot on it's 35th edition.

Registration is now open - runners everywhere are invited to participate in this beautiful run, that goes throughout the Dana Point Harbor, with scenic routes around it. Tour the beautiful beach, majestic cliffs and coves of Dana Point.
