California’s coast and waterways have historically been collecting spots for annual accumulations of trash and debris. This debris, if not removed, can be harmful and even fatal to all manners of marine wildlife, can damage our state’s economy, and can even become a human health hazard. Coastal Cleanup Day is a great way for families, students, service groups, and neighbors to join together, take care of our fragile marine environment, show community support for our shared natural resources, learn about the impacts of marine debris and how we can prevent them, and to have fun!

The Annual San Clemente Fiesta is just around the corner ! The family fun event is happening again this year on beautiful Del Mar Street in downtown San Clemente.

What to expect? Walk on Del Mar as the city closes vehicle traffic and it becomes pedestrian only for the day. It finally feels like summer in our beautiful Orange County and so with that comes time to visit our beautiful cities, beaches and local eateries. We are lucky enough to live in a place that the rest of the world considers a vacation destination, so why not enjoy it like a tourist?

Here's an idea for you. Use the trolley!  Our South OC towns provide a free trolley service and riders can expect a trolley at each stop about every 15 minutes. Trolley stops are clearly marked with signs. You can ride along the different trolleys and do a coastal trip from San Clemente, going through Dana Point, into Laguna Beach, or take a detour from Dana Point into San Juan Capistrano. Already thinking about how you are going to spend your 4th of July in South OC? Where are the best fireworks or what kind of activities can you be part of? 

We've found a few favorites in our office and here's the results:

1. Dana Point - Fireworks at the Harbor

This is the busiest day of the year so plan your arrival at Doheny State Beach accordingly. The fireworks can also be seen from the neighborhoods atop the 'Lantern Village'. These fireworks are synchronized to KSBR 88.5 FM  - the show starts at 8:45pm.

2. San Clemente - Fireworks at the Pier

The Downtown Business Association is hosting their 24th Annual Car Show in downtown San Clemente on Avenida Del Mar. The show is free to the public and boasts 300 quality show cars on exhibit from classic to exotic and also vintage trailers to view.
