19th Annual San Clemente OPEN Skate Contest coming up!

The 19th Annual SC OPEN Skateboard Contest hosted by the City of San Clemente & the Friends of the City of San Clemente Beaches, Parks, & Recreation Foundation is coming up this September!

Where:  Ralphs Skate Court (241 Avenida La Pata San Clemente, California 92673)

When: 09/14/2019 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM  

The Co-ed SC OPEN Skate Contest will take place at the San Clemente Ralphs Skate Court; open to all ages. The contest will start at 9:00am. Entry fee is $40/skater. On-site registration will be based upon availability and will begin at 7:30 a.m. on the day of the event. Other activities include a vendor fair and food and beverages. ALL SKATERS MUST WEAR SAFETY EQUIPMENT: TO INCLUDE HELMET & KNEE AND ELBOW PADS to participate.

San Clemente Fiesta is around the corner!

The Annual San Clemente Fiesta is just around the corner ! The family fun event is happening again this year on beautiful Del Mar Street in downtown San Clemente.

• When: Sunday Aug 11, 2019
• Time: 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM PDT
• Admission Fee:  Free

What to expect? Walk on Del Mar as the city closes vehicle traffic and it becomes pedestrian only for the day. Food, games, arts, crafts and music from over thirty-six local nonprofit service organizations participate and raise funds that are then sent back into the community for various charitable causes.

Trolley like a Pro!

It finally feels like summer in our beautiful Orange County and so with that comes time to visit our beautiful cities, beaches and local eateries. We are lucky enough to live in a place that the rest of the world considers a vacation destination, so why not enjoy it like a tourist?

Here's an idea for you. Use the trolley!  Our South OC towns provide a free trolley service and riders can expect a trolley at each stop about every 15 minutes. Trolley stops are clearly marked with signs. You can ride along the different trolleys and do a coastal trip from San Clemente, going through Dana Point, into Laguna Beach, or take a detour from Dana Point into San Juan Capistrano. Fourth of July in Orange County 2019

Already thinking about how you are going to spend your 4th of July in South OC? Where are the best fireworks or what kind of activities can you be part of? 

We've found a few favorites in our office and here's the results:

1. Dana Point - Fireworks at the Harbor

This is the busiest day of the year so plan your arrival at Doheny State Beach accordingly. The fireworks can also be seen from the neighborhoods atop the 'Lantern Village'. These fireworks are synchronized to KSBR 88.5 FM  - the show starts at 8:45pm.

2. San Clemente - Fireworks at the Pier

The California State Parks & Doheny State Beach Interpretive Association are bringing back the 17th annual DOHENY SURF & ART FESTIVAL 201. This is free festival consisting of a two-day celebration of the Southern California surfing lifestyle.

Memorial Day Ceremony in Dana Point

24th Annual San Clemente Car Show

The Downtown Business Association is hosting their 24th Annual Car Show in downtown San Clemente on Avenida Del Mar. The show is free to the public and boasts 300 quality show cars on exhibit from classic to exotic and also vintage trailers to view. This family friendly event includes live entertainment, a beer, wine & mimosa garden, food trucks, vendors, and children’s activities.

Springtime is here even if we still have some clouds hovering over us. Are you looking for an event or something fun to do this weekend?
