According to city officials, the pilot program must attract a minimum ridership of 10 boardings per hour, or 500 per day, in order to maintain grant funding for its operation from the Orange County Transportation…

Looking for a cool event to visit this weekend? Doheny Wood, the annual Woodie Club and Car Show at Doheny State Beach is on this Saturday!

Woodies start lining up the south day-use area at dawn and begin departing in the mid-afternoon. Don’t miss out on this fun-filled day.

Summer is approachin quickly and for those of you who enjoy the series of concerts that the city of Dana Point puts together every year, here's the information! And for those of you who are newbies at this : Dana Point's city does a really good job at entertaining its residents and visitors every summer with a series of concerts held at the main parks and the beach. All concerts are held Sunday's from 2:30pm-6pm.Food, beer, wine, water & soda are sold and served on site, and Atm's are usually available. The best thing to do is to bring your own chairs or blankets, and yes, dogs are allowed on leashes.

Dana Point is known as the “Whale Capital of the West,” and for good reason.

Not only is it a popular place to see all kinds of whales – gray, blue, fin, orca – but it also plays host to a big event spanning two weekends that celebrates the massive mammals that like to vacation off our coast.

The 44th annual Festival of Whales kicked of last Saturday with the traditional Whale Parade on PCH ( Pacific Coast Highway)  and continues  March 14-15 – with a variety of events taking place in and around the harbor, for this upcoming weekend, here's a list of the events happening on both days and specific date events:

----The Dana Point City Council last week unanimously awarded a contract for trolley service to Professional Parking, which will operate a summer weekend trolley along Pacific Coast Highway.

Called Project V, the PCH trolley would connect with Laguna Beach’s trolleys and run from the Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel to the St. Regis Monarch Bay, the Town Center, Dana Point Harbor, Doheny State Beach, Beach Road and Palisades Drive and Doheny Village.

It would run noon-10 p.m. Fridays, 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturdays and 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Sundays. Shuttles will also run during various events, starting with the Festival of Whales this March.
