When buying a home in Orange County, there's many factors that will make you decide one way or another into an area. For dog lovers, being able to take these companions around, is a very important factor to take into consideration when purchasing a home.
We must say all cities in Orange County are mostly pet friendly. It's just that some areas are more than others. And for those looking for beach cities, that are pet friendly and that you can take your dog on long walks, trails and parks, Huntington Beach has always been the best idea.
But if you want to be more on the south side of Orange County, there's not that many options...until now. It looks like San Clemente will become a south Orange County answer to Huntington Beach – a dog friendly town.
In San Clemente, the city's elected leaders decided this past January 22nd 2013, to allow dogs for the first time in most of the city's 21 parks, plus the lawn of the Community Center.
The decision drew applause from dog owners who said the new found freedom will breed responsible behavior and peer pressure that will result in less dog waste being left in those parks than in parks where dogs are banned.
The council extended the welcome only to licensed dogs, and they must be leashed. They can't venture into playgrounds, and owners will be subject to fines of $100 or more if they leave dog droppings behind. San Clemente had banned dogs in all parks in the past.
With amazing ocean views from many homes, options from small cottages and condos to beautiful beach front estates, San Clemente is a wonderful place to call home. Are you ready to venture around in San Clemente and look for your dream home in this coastal town?
