The holidays are here! While a lot of us are thinking of our plans for Thanksgiving, dinners, parties and all the social stuff that comes with them, here's another item to at do the list: a holiday trot! Rather than waiting for next year and getting a resolution to get healthy and get outside, here's a list of Turkey Day Trots in our area that will get you going! Here are the best events of the season, many of which have a charitable component. What a great way to get fit for a cause!
- The OC Turkey Trot! 5K and Kids 1K Fun Run
Run Orange County’s Turkey Trot 5K. This is a family friendly event that has something for everyone. Choose your own course tactics: Run fast, jog, trot, walk, or enjoy a nice stroll on this flat scenic course. You’re welcome to come dressed in a theme or in running attire. It’s your choice how to celebrate. It’s your Turkey Trot! Bikes and strollers are okay for the kids (but please line up at the back of the pack for the start). This will be a picture perfect way to start celebrating THANKSGIVING DAY!

- Dana Point Turkey Trot
A favorite one , this Turkey Trot is celebrating it’s 38th year, the Dana Point Turkey Trot will offer Southern California a number of ways to get active this Thanksgiving season. As the sixth largest turkey trot in the country, more than 16,000 participants will have the opportunity to participate in 5 and 10K runs, a Kids’ Gobble Wobble and a two-day health and fitness expo.

- Huntington Beach Turkey Wooble! 5k/10K Turkey Trot
The event course is on one of the most beautiful beaches in America! The start/finish line will be on the corner of Pacific Coast Highway and Beach Boulevard on the sand of the multipurpose path.
The 1K, 5K and 10K routes are flat, out and back. Enjoy the pounding surf and cool ocean breeze while traveling under the historic Huntington Beach Pier, the outdoor Surf Museum, and the charming Main St. of Surf City, USA.
