A Grand Opening will be held March 21, 2015!
Celebrate the opening of San Clemente's new Sensory Garden with a day of exploration and excitement at Courtney’s SandCastle, the award-winning universal playground, which is part of the Vista Hermosa Sport Park in San Clemente, California.
Courtney's SandCastle serves children of all abilities, and is especially designed for children with physical, mental and sensory disabilities.
San Clemente’s Courtney Smith was 4 years old in 2001 when adults in her life set out to find a way to build south Orange County’s first universal-access playground in her name.
Phase I has been open since 2012, and Phase II - the Sensory Garden is about to be open for the public!
The Sensory Garden will include:
a Sensory Garden with plants to provide a wide variety of different sensory stimulation:
-Â A meandering path
- Musical panels
-Â A floating marble ball water feature
-Â A Simulated Tide Pool.
